I have disliked the inside of our medicine cabinet for a while now, so when I saw this I knew that I had to get to it. I went down to our local recycling arts store and found some scrap-booking paper that I liked. Then I basically just mod podged it to the back. I love the added pizzazz that it gives!

DIY Skinny Jeans
I've seen some tutorials (like this one) on converting your flare/boot jeans into skinny jeans and I thought I'd give it a try. I really like skinny jeans, but I have a hard time buying them. Something about trying on tight pants in the dressing room that makes me run for the hills. This is super handy, though, and am really happy with the results!

DIY T-Shirt Revamp with Lace
For the last couple of weeks I've been showing you some t-shirt revamps that I've been doing to help diminish my ill-fitting t-shirt pile in my closet. One of my all time favorite t-shirts is one that I got from a Swell Season concert several years back. It is a light, breezy t-shirt that has shrunk after too many washes. When I saw this tank top with lace on the side...I knew what I had to do!
I found some white lace from a used craft materials store but didn't really like the high contrast between the off white t-shirt and the bright white lace so...I dyed it!
I made up a giant pot of coffee, brought it to a boil and then put my lace panels in for about two hours. I rinsed it out until the water ran clear and let it dry overnight. I'm really happy with the color that it turned and am hoping it doesn't fade too much over time.
I stitched in the lace triangles today and voilĂ !

Birthday Box Full of Stuffed Balloons!
My wonderful nephew is turning T-H-R-E-E today! He lives many miles away
so I wanted to send him something extra fun in the mail. I saw this
idea here and was like..perfect!
I filled each balloon with a variety of fun things that a three year
old would like! I'm hoping he has fun opening up the colorful box,
playing with the balloons, popping them, and discovering the treasures
inside!
Items I put inside the balloons:
-Candy (small things like Pez work great)
-Dollar bills
-Pom poms
-Small toys (I used some wind up cars)
-Stickers

From Pants to Shorts!
I decided that I needed some new jean shorts. Instead of pay the $22.50 for the pair that I wanted from the store...I revamped a pair of pants that had shrunk and were too short for me. Yay for saving $22.50!
True to my style, I didn't measure anything before I started cutting away. It did take me a couple tries to make sure that everything was reasonably straight, though. The roll technique helps cover some mistakes, too. I did add some fabric glue to the inside of the rolls, though, to make sure they stay put.

DIY T-shirt Neon Stripes Redo
As I said last week, I've been inspired to tackle my large pile of ill-fitting t-shirts. This Grand Rapids t-shirt is an oldie but a goodie so I put it in the revamp pile. I basically just sewed in two triangle panels into the side seams. And I am happy to say that it is back in action! And I love the addition of the neon yellow stripes on the side.

DIY T-Shirt Redo!
So I have a massive pile of t-shirts in my closet that have shrunk, don't fit me, never fit me, etc. I figured it was time to do something about it! I don't always like the typical t-shirt refashions but I loved this one here that I saw. It basically combines two t-shirts into one. I like the extra pizazz that it gives a regular old t-shirt!

Flower Pencil Bouquets for Teacher Appreciation Week
My boss asked me to do something for the boys' teachers since this is Teacher Appreciation Week--so I figured what would be better than to make flower pencil bouquets!

DIY 365 Day Drawing Journal
I've been seeing drawing journals all over the place (like this one) and figured I could make my own! Lucky for me, I had a blank sketchbook just asking to be used. I counted the pages and realized I didn't have enough for a full year so I decided to make a one-drawing-per-every-2-days journal. Has a nice ring to it, huh? I had fun writing the dates on the corners of the page--each one is different!

Felt Superhero Masks (Round 3)
The little guy I nanny had a birthday yesterday so I made a couple more superhero masks to add to his collection. I've made a total of seven superhero masks now and I am feeling like a bit of a professional. I whipped up Wolverine and Flash in no
time!

DIY Long Distance "I Miss You" Mugs with Sharpie
So have you all been loving all of the sharpie/mug ideas on Pinterest? I sure have. I finally found myself at the Dollar Store the other day so I picked up some white mugs so I could make some of my own mugs. I live super far away from my parents so I wanted to make my mom a mug so she can think of me and I can think of her when we drink our morning cup of coffee from afar! My mom and dad are coming to visit so this is the perfect time to give her one. I saw this one and knew I had to do it. I can't wait to give it to her!

DIY Entryway Shoe Organization!
I've been reorganizing some things in our house recently...and one space that was in desperate need of some help was our entryway. Or should I say our lack of an entryway.
Here is what we had before:
Pretty impressive, huh? I had two of these bins in our house that contained an assortment of shoes, gloves, and rain pants. In order to find anything, you had to dump out all the things piled on top. I decided enough was enough! I purchased two more crates and painted them a gold and a blue (because that was the only paint I had on hand!). I then arranged them nicely by our coat rack and even put a little rug by the space.
It really feels like it is an entryway now! I absolutely love it...no more shoe piles!

DIY Polka Dot Silver Glitter Shirt
Ever since I made my dino shirt, I really have wanted to decorate a couple other plain shirts that I had sitting in my closet. I got it in my head that I wanted to do a polka dot shirt...so I did.
All you need to make your own is fabric paint (this is what I used) and a rubbery wine cork (like Barefoot wines). Just dip the cork into the paint and put it on the shirt. You might need to do a couple layers to get the look you want. I think I had to do about three coats. I also just eyeballed the placement but if you could always use masking tape to double check your spacing. Let each side dry for four or so hours...then it should be wearable...and washable!

A Little House Stamp
A while ago I made a flamingo stamp out of an eraser and have been wanting to do another one for a while. I saw an adorable idea over on Pinterest and decided today was the day to make my own little house stamp.
